I'm really enjoying the videocast! Your enthusiasm is great! BTW, about the unplied yarn...when yarn isn't plyed, it's called a singles, or single ply (which seems an odd term, since "ply" would indicate more than one strand). Anyway, I don't find single plys good yarns for socks, as they tend to wear out quicker than plied yarns. The plying helps give the yarn strength. Singles yarns also tend to pill a lot (think Malabrigo worsted...beautiful, soft, but make a sweater out of it and it will pill like crazy). I'd probably use that yarn for a shawl...it would make a beautiful one! :)
